Latanoprost is used to treat high pressure inside the eye due to glaucoma (open angle type) or other eye diseases (such as ocular hypertension). It is similar to a natural chemical in the body (prostaglandin) and works by regulating the flow of fluid within the eye which results in lower pressure. Lowering high pressure inside the eye helps to prevent blindnessApply this medication in the affected eye(s) usually once daily in the evening, or as directed by your doctor. Do not use this medication more frequently than prescribed; using more can decrease effectiveness.
To apply eye drops, wash your hands first. To avoid contamination, do not touch the dropper tip or let it touch your eye or any other surface.
If you are wearing contact lenses, remove them before using this medication. Wait at least 15 minutes before replacing your contact lenses.
Tilt your head back, look upward, and pull down the lower eyelid to make a pouch. Hold the dropper directly over your eye and place one drop into the pouch. Look downward, gently close your eyes, and place one finger at the corner of your eye (near the nose). Apply gentle pressure for 1 to 2 minutes before opening your eyes. This will prevent the medication from draining out. Try not to blink or rub your eye. Repeat these steps if your dose is for more than one drop. If directed to use this medication in both eyes, repeat these steps for your other eye. Do not rinse the dropper. Replace the dropper cap after each use.

Glucomol 0.5% Eye Drop 5 ml belongs to a class of anti-hypertensive drugs called 'beta-blockers' primarily used to treat increased pressure in the eye in conditions of glaucoma (damage of optic nerve) and ocular hypertension (high fluid pressure inside the eye). Glaucoma is an eye condition which causes damage to the optic nerve (essential for good vision) due to abnormally increased pressure in the eye. Ocular hypertension is increased pressure in the eye due to poor drainage of aqueous humour (fluid in the eye that maintains normal pressure by its continuous flow).
Glucomol 0.5% Eye Drop 5 ml works by decreasing the secretion of aqueous humour (a liquid that maintains normal pressure in the eyeball) by the ciliary body into the eyeball. Thereby lowers the pressure in the eye by reducing aqueous humour entry into the eyeball.
Apply one drop of Glucomol 0.5% Eye Drop 5 ml in the morning and one drop in the evening in the affected eye. Your doctor will advise you how many drops to instil based on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience redness, itching, stinging or burning in the eyes, swelling of the eyelid and dry eyes. Most of these side effects of Glucomol 0.5% Eye Drop 5 ml do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects worsen or persist, please consult your doctor.
If you are known to be allergic to Glucomol 0.5% Eye Drop 5 ml or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. Glucomol 0.5% Eye Drop 5 ml should be used with caution in children. Your doctor will estimate the benefits and risks of Glucomol 0.5% Eye Drop 5 ml in children, and if Glucomol 0.5% Eye Drop 5 ml is used in newborn, they should be under close observation for 1 to 2 hours after the first dose and adverse effects should be monitored. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, please inform your doctor before taking Glucomol 0.5% Eye Drop 5 ml. You are advised to remove soft contact lenses before using Glucomol 0.5% Eye Drop 5 ml as it may cause discolouration of soft contact lens.

Cromal Eye Drops 5 ml belongs to a group of medications called ‘antiallergics’ used to treat allergic rhinitis, prevention of asthma and conjunctivitis (pink eye). Allergic rhinitis (hay fever) is a type of seasonal allergies characterized by a runny nose, sneezing, red, watery, itchy, and swollen eyes occurring due to exposure to allergens. Asthma is a condition in which the airways gets narrowed and swollen, resulting in difficulty breathing, coughing, and wheezing (whistling sound).
Cromal Eye Drops 5 ml contains ‘sodium cromoglycate’, which reduces the inflammation of the airways in the lungs. It prevents the release of a natural allergy-causing agent called 'histamine' that plays an important role in inflammation. Thus, it prevents inflammation, and allergic symptoms caused to the allergens, minimizing breathing complications in asthma and other respiratory allergic conditions.
Cromal Eye Drops 5 ml is available in the form of nasal spray, eye drops, and inhalation. You should take this medicine as prescribed by your doctor. The common side-effects of Cromal Eye Drops 5 ml are burning sensation, eye irritation, and blurred vision. These effects are seen immediately after instilling the eye drops and usually go away after some time. Temporary throat irritation and a bad taste in the mouth can be seen after inhalation. However, consult a doctor immediately if these side-effects persist or worsen.
Do not use Cromal Eye Drops 5 ml if you are allergic to ‘sodium cromoglycate’ or any other ingredients present in it. Before using Cromal Eye Drops 5 ml, inform your doctor if you are taking any prescription or non-prescription medicines. Inform your doctor if you have liver or kidney disease as dose adjustments may be necessary. It should be used in children with caution. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
